CAG carpers Frank Rink and Mike Olinger take 2nd and 3rd place in Kankakee Derby
Carp Anglers Group members Mike Olinger and Frank Rink placed 3rd and 2nd respectively in the "Rough Fish Division" of the 28th annual Kankakee River Valley Fishing Derby held June 24th through July 3rd, 2011. This year's derby, which featured over 800 anglers, spanned the waters of the Kankakee River from the Indiana State Line to Wilmington, Illinois (nearly 100 miles).

Mike (pictured above with his 2009 first place derby entry) took 3rd with a 15-14 Common caught during the first weekend of the derby. Frank moved up to 2nd place with a 19-2 Buffalo (pictured below) caught on the last day of the competition. Perennial contenders, the DeLabre family of Momence, Illinois, won the division with a 21-0 caught by Beverly DeLabre on the first day/night of event. The awards ceremony was held on July 6 at the Bradley-Bourbonnais Sportsman's Club in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
