1st Annual MCAA Lake Storey Spring Challenge

| The
weather was absolutely beautiful at scenic Lake Storey in Galesburg,
Illinois on May
17th for the 1st
Annual MCAA Lake Storey Spring Challenge. The carp, on the other
hand, were somewhat finicky as only five fish were caught over the course
of the eight-hour day. New member Jace Bowley took home both first and
second place with fish weighing in at 20 pounds, 8 ounces (personal best)
and
11 pounds,
9 ounces. Cory Bohmann won third place honors with a 7 pound 10 ounce
carp
caught
within
minutes of the closing gun. Cory also caught a 6 pound, 10 ounce fish,
and Sam Snow rounded out the catch-board with a 7 pound carp. Thanks to all who participated and to all who supported the tackle flea market. Although fishing was slow during the 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. tournament time-frame, Lake Storey produced three Personal Bests for MCAA members over the course of the weekend.
