As predicted, the November 29, 2008 Second Annual MCAA Thanksgiving Challenge was a carpfest with 13 anglers weighing over 700 pounds of fish! Mike Olinger took home the first place medal and accompanying cash with a total weight of 148 pounds, 11 ounces. Frank Rink placed second with 116 pounds, five ounces of carp. Paul Wells caught the big fish of the day at 22-1, and also placed third in total weight with 106 pounds, ten ounces. In addition, Mike Olinger was the first to weigh 50 pounds for a $50 Visa gift card.

Here are some stats from the event:

Number of fish caught: 90+.

Total weight of all fish caught: 701 lbs, 3 oz.

(3) Biggest fish: Paul Wells 22-1, Patrick Mills 18-12, Mike Olinger 15-3.

Smallest Fish caught: Frank Rink 1-14.

Most fish caught: Frank Rink-16, Mike Olinger-16.
