| 1. The Midwest Regional Carp Fishing Online Contest – Winter Edition - runs from December 1st, 2010 through February 28th, 2011. 2. This is a Big Five Total Weight Contest (five of your heaviest common and mirror carp) and Big Fish Contest (single biggest carp caught during the time of contest). Simple rules: catch, weigh, take a picture, release the carp and e-mail all information and picture to the organizer. 3. All fish must be caught from waters across the Midwest Region in the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana only. 4. There is an entry fee of $20 for those who want to participate in this contest. The entry fee must be paid before any catches are submitted. Payment can be made by Paypal to Pawel Sander at sider1977@yahoo.com (please use the option in which you send the money as a“gift”; you can safely use a credit card on the Paypal page without a Paypal account); or you can make a payment in person as well (contact Paul Sander for details sider1977@yahoo.com). There will be 100% payout of entry fees in prizes. Prizes will be posted soon. 5. All anglers wanting to participate in the Midwest Regional Carp Fishing Online Contest must make a payment and send an e-mail to Paul Sander at sider1977@yahoo.com with the name of the angler and his/her contact e-mail address. All personal information submitted to the organizer is kept in the strictest confidence and will never be used for any purpose other than for the needs of the contest management system. 6. You do not have to be a Carp Anglers Group member to start, but it would be great if you finished this contest as a new member of the Carp Anglers Group! 7. The contest is strictly Catch, Weigh, Photograph and Release of Common and Mirror Carp. Fish must be caught with rod and reel using legal, ethical, and humane methods of carp fishing and, of course, fish must be released safely. Please take as much care as possible to safely land, weigh, take a picture, and release your carp. 8. You do not need a witness when you catch a carp for entry in this contest. This is an honor system event. We ask you to be honest when weighing and submitting each fish. 9. After registering for the contest, you must print out the Midwest Regional Carp Fishing Online Contest Logo. This will be sent to you via email after registering for the contest. The Official Logo of the contest with the name of angler on it must be displayed in all the photos of the fish entered into the contest. You may also download the logo here. 10. Anglers fishing any legal body of water must submit pictures of their fish captures with all required information to Paul Sander: sider1977@yahoo.com. The picture requirements are (1) you holding the carp with the Logo of the contest in the photo with your name on the Logo document, or (2) a picture of the fish on the unhooking mat with scale and logo (with your name on the logo document) beside the fish. All pictures must include the date when the picture was taken. Make sure you set this in your camera. We prefer that you display all five of your fish from the same perspective (head left or head right). Please display the fish as best as possible, and please avoid Photoshopping, obscuring, or changing the photo’s background. Taking a good picture of a captured fish is a part of carp fishing, and it is easy to take a picture without showing a background that will give up your “secret spots.” The organizer reserves the right of final judgment in this matter. Weigh the fish and record its weight in pounds and ounces. Make sure you calibrate your scale and subtract the weight of the weigh sling. 11. All pictures and catching information (weight of the carp, date, time, general location of the catch) must be sent by e-mail to the organizer no later than ten days after fish was captured and no later than March 7th, 2011. 12. Registration for the contest is open now! Fish may not be caught and counted prior to the official start date of the contest on December 1st, 2010. If you do not sign up by December 1st, 2010, you can join the event anytime after the opening date, but all fish you catch will be counted from the date you signed up for the contest. Contest entry fee must be received before you can record a catch and submit a catch report. 13. There will be an online leaderboard available on our media partners’ websites: Illinois Carp Fishing NEWS, Midwest Winter Carp League, and updates will also be posted on the Midwest Section Forum of the Carp Anglers Group website and also on the Facebook Midwest Regional Carp Fishing Online Contest page. 14. Anglers will participate at your own risk, and your are responsible for anything that happens to you. 15. Any angler, who may attempt to submit the same fish/photo more than once, could be removed from the contest. The organizer reserves the right of final judgment, including approval of the weight of the fish based on the pictures of them (in case the reported weight of the fish is much higher than the fish looks in the picture). 16. Thank you for entering. Go fishing, stay warm, and have fun. |
