MUCH CARE AS POSSIBLE TO SAFELY LAND THE
FISH, WEIGH IT, TAKE
A PICTURE,
AND THEN RELEASE IT ALIVE AND IN GREAT SHAPE.

4)
HONOR SYSTEM SUBMISSION PROCEDURES: This Tournament
will be conducted on the HONOR SYSTEM with the following stipulations:
A. To
participate in the 2010 MCAA Winter Tournament, you must be an
MCAA member with a signed waiver on file. Should you
wish to join or wish to have your waiver status checked, contact MCAA@comcast.net.
B. Tournament
fees and appropriate membership status must be received/in place
before you can record a catch and submit a catch report.
C. You
do not need a witness when you catch a carp for entry in the
contest. However, you must take a digital photo of the fish,
alive and in good
shape,
on
your unhooking mat or weigh sling. If you are fishing with somebody,
photos of you holding the fish appropriately are encouraged (no
gill shots or stringer
shots or nearly-dead, dried-up fish dumped in the back of pickups
or rolling in driveway gravel are allowed).
D. Weigh
the fish and record its weight in pounds and ounces. Make sure
you "tare" the scale or subtract the weight of the sling.
E. E-mail
the digital photo (try to keep maximum width under 640 pixels)
with the weight of the carp, date, time, and general location
of the catch to rink@prodigy.net.
You need not give up your "secret" swim. Location can simply
be the name of the body of water to verify that it is within
the boundaries of the contest. Contact rink@prodigy.net if you
are having trouble downloading the picture,
and we will
walk
you
through
the procedure.
F. Your
biggest carp will count for both the Big Four Total Weight Division
and the Big Fish Division should you opt to enter both contests. Keep
in mind that once you have submitted four fish photos, there
is no need to submit photos of fish weighing less than your fourth
biggest fish.
ALL ENTRIES
MUST BE RECEIVED
NO LATER THAN MARCH 7TH, 2010. THERE WILL
BE AN ONLINE
LEADER BOARD ON THE MCAA WEBSITE. Updates
will also be posted on the Midwest Section
of the CAG website. Fish data should be submitted
within five days of capture.

5)
PRIZES:
Prizes for this event are secondary. This contest is primarily
intended to result in some fun during the winter "doldrums" of
January and February.
MCAA and its organizers will not keep any
percentage of the fees. There will be 100% payout of each
division's entry fees to the 1st Place winner
of each division. Second place winners in each division will
receive $50 with the possibility of that prize increasing.
Third place winners in each division will
receive $35 with the possibility of that prize increasing.
All other participants will receive certificates praising
your
bravery
(or foolhardiness)
for
fishing in these
kinds
of conditions.
6)
SAFETY: PARTICIPATE
AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS
TO YOU.
7)
COLD WEATHER SUGGESTIONS: PLAN AHEAD! THIS IS COLD WEATHER
FISHING. DRESS APPROPRIATELY. HAVE A PLAN TO STAY WARM. THERE
ARE PLENTY OF
PLACES TO FISH LEGALLY.
FIND A SPOT WHERE YOU WILL NOT GET TICKETED OR ARRESTED.
IF YOU ARE FISHING BY YOURSELF,
HAVE A GAME PLAN
( WHOM TO CALL, ETC.) IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS.
